Jim Gupta-Carlson "Three Sisters and Rhubarb" 2012 |
I sat this morning and reflected on the three years of living on the old farm we've affectionately named "Squashville" - three years of practicing what I learned just recently is called "bio-dynamic farming" - and in recounting the work of rehabilitating damaged soil and bringing life back to a dead yard I realized it was time to start something new. I've photographed our yard as it became a garden and then a small farm with cell phones repeatedly - but just a few times have I taken out a real camera and tripod and composed photographs. I think I've been waiting for an urban street photography project to spring up out of nowhere like our spring water just appears out of the ground. It has - just not in the form I was expecting. So here it goes.
